Bio
“I’ve done questionable things. … Nothing the god of bio-mechanics wouldn’t let you in heaven for.”
Manchester centered band SKINJOB were originally formed in 1991 by founder members ‘Fitz’ and artist ‘Manns’ back in 1991 when they set out to produce ‘post modern industrial dance’ in the days of Front Line Assembly, Nitzer Ebb & Skinny Puppy.
The inspiration for the name ‘SkinjoB’ was Ridley Scott’s seminal movie, ‘Bladerunner‘ and is the slang term for the ‘replicants’ in the movie. Interestingly, the term has recently resurfaced to refer to the Cylons in Battlestar Galactica.
Rebooted in 2005 as the solo project of Fitz but with live stage musicians, the initial focus was on remixing (including remixes for NACHTMAHR, XPQ-21 and KiEw on releases making the top ten in the German DAC chart) along with an EP promo release that ended up entering the Dutch Underground Chart at number one. During this time new and updated versions of original tracks were being prepared for the SELFISH DISCIPLINE album which began to take shape. Live shows progressed with Skinjob supporting some of their old heroes in the form of FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY and SHEEP ON DRUGS, along with other scene heavyweights including COMBICHRIST, SOMAN, ALEC EMPIRE and GRENDEL. They also got to play INFEST (with the infamous FRONT 242 headlining), and SUMMER DARKNESS in the Netherlands.

The album tracks are a mix of EBM bass roots meeting trance and industrial elements combined with political undertones in a style which can only be referred to as ELITIST OBSCURE ELECTRONICA.
